Munich, Au, Germany

Between Maria-Hilf-Platz and Columbus-Platz is the apartment house, which was built in the 1950s as a “secretary's house”. On its east side, the Auer Mühlbach is accompanied by old trees and forms a quiet oasis. In the high attic of the house there were previously storerooms, a store and drying rooms that had not been used for a long time. Now four modern apartments are being built here in a new roof structure with the best insulation against cold, heat and noise, entirely in line with sustainability, on an existing building without additional sealing of the ground. On the floors below, eight apartments will be merged into two-room apartments, which will make the population structure more diverse.
